What the heck is a "Bretzel"?


A bread pretzel popular in southern Germany and adjoining German-speaking areas is made from wheat flour, water and yeast, usually sprinkled with coarse salt, hand-sized and made for consumption on the same day. It is relatively soft, rather than brittle. To avoid confusion with any other kind of pretzel, German speakers call this variety "Bretzel".

Gelato and Sorbetto Bar now Open

We now make and serve our very own Gelato and Sorbetto. Unlike most commercial ice creams, which are frozen with a continuous assembly line freezer, gelato is frozen very quickly in individual small batches in a batch freezer. Churning during the freezing process incorporates air into the mix. The added air is called overrun. Unlike most commercial ice cream, which contains up to 100% overrun, the overrun in gelato is low, generally 20–35%. Lower overrun results in a denser product with more intense flavors.
